Baseball fans traveling in the Western U.S. can catch spring training games by many popular teams in Arizona. Tickets usually start around $10, making it a cheap day out.

While most Major League Baseball (MLB) teams conduct spring training in Florida, twelve teams have set up home base in the drier climate of Arizona.

Tickets to these games are usually very affordable, starting as low as $4 a seat, making them perfect ways to entertain a sports fan traveling on a budget. Even adding in the cost of a hot dog and beer can make a game a great deal for any baseball fan.

Several nights are also special games, with either giveaways or exhibition games against international teams from places like Australia or Europe.

Here’s a listing of Cactus League teams (named so due to the Arizona location) and where they play their home games during the spring:

The lowest ticket prices are generally for lawn seats, with the highest prices being the prime viewing seats. Some of these venues may also charge for parking, generally $5 to $10 per car.

Not only are the Cactus League teams inexpensive to watch during their spring training, but since most of the stadiums are within an hour or two drive of each other, baseball fans can take in several games without a lot of effort or money. In fact, several teams share the same training location.

The 2009 spring training season for most of these teams runs from the end of February to the beginning of April. For complete schedules of all spring training games, visit the MLB official site.
