$20 and Under Things to Do at Super Bowl XLIIISave Money with These Low Cost Activities During NFL Week in Tampa
Going to Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa? Use these budget-friendly activities to enhance the trip.
Tickets to the actual game are astronomically priced. But even without tickets to the big game, it's possible to still enjoy some great activities planned around the Super Bowl in Tampa that cost $20 or less. Here's a quick rundown of the best: NFL ExperienceOf all the events during Super Bowl XLIII, the NFL Experience is the one not to miss for football fans of all ages. This pro-football interactive festival offers sports fans the chance to immerse themselves in the world of the NFL. Experience kids football clinics, free autograph sessions, participatory football-themed games, displays and the largest football card show. There are also daily NFL Coach chats, which give an inside look at the game. The event takes place adjacent to Raymond James Stadium, where the Super Bowl is taking place and runs through January 31. Tickets are $18.50 for adults and $12.50 for children under 12. Order by phone at 866.TIX.4NFL (866.849.4635) or at any Ticketmaster outlet. As a bonus, proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated by the NFL to two NFL Youth Education Towns of Tampa Bay, which serve at-risk youth. NFL Experience After DarkThis evening party for adults only features appearances by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders, a DJ, a marching band and an EA Sports "Madden NFL 09" mini tournament with a pair of Super Bowl XLIII tickets going to the winner. The event takes place January 29, from 9pm until midnight at the NFL Experience and tickets are only $10 each. Purchase by calling 866.849.4635 or via Ticketmaster. NFL Players LiveHave a NFL star call a friend or family member for free! This event takes place Saturday, January 31st, at the Sprint Phone-A-Friend Stage inside the NFL Experience from noon until 6pm. A ticket to the NFL Experience (see above) is required to take part in this, so factor in that admission fee when attending this event. Pepsi Smash Super Bowl BashOne of the hottest concerts in the Tampa Bay area during Super Bowl week, this concert will be hosted by actor Jerry O'Connell at the Ford Amphitheater on January 29, 2009. Scheduled to perform are chart-toppers Rhianna, Fall Out Boy and Lifehouse, and the whole concert will be aired live on VH1. Tickets start at only $20 for lawn seats and can be purchased at any Ticketmaster or the Ford Amphitheatre box office. Pepsi Musica Super Bowl BashThis Latin-themed companion to the Pepsi Smash concert also takes place at the Ford Amphitheatre and features live performances by Latin pop superstars Enrique Iglesias and Belanova. The concert takes place on January 30th and lawn seats are only $20 a ticket. They are available at the box office or via Ticketmaster. Leti Coo, Jessi Losada and Karim Mendiburu will host the show, which will be aired on Telemundo the next night. Gridiron Greats Autograph ExtravaganzaThis collectibles show will feature many NFL legends and Hall of Fame players signing autographs, including Mike Ditka, Don Shula, and more. The event takes place at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino from 2pm until 5pm on January 30th. Tickets are $20, with proceeds going to the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, and are available at the door. Celebrities may charge an additional fee for autographs.
